Research Interests
I am a postdoc in the Planetary Geophysics group at Georgia Institute of Technology. In general, I am interested in using surface features to learn about global geodynamics and crustal evolution. I am particularly interested in Venus and all of its weird and wonderful volcanic features. Much of my work has focused on pancake domes, flat-topped round volcanoes of a scale that we do not see on Earth. I have studied their global distribution, relationship to elastic thickness and heat flow, and formation over a bending lithosphere. I have studied Venus’ crater outflows, large meandering flow features emerging from ~1/3 of Venus’ impact craters which likely formed by impact melt. I am also interested in icy moons, and how we can use impact craters to learn about crustal composition and resurfacing history.
